Recycling, sure a lot of you must have heard about the term often in your life. In the class on environment. In the news on your television. And perhaps even when you visited the local mall, you might have come across posters or an advertisement discussing what is recycling. Recycling is one of the three basic methods humanity has devised against overexploitation of resources and climate change due to pollution and industrialisation related hazards to the nature.
The Three R’s
Those three ways are also known as the three ‘Rs’. They are known as Reuse, referring to reusing materials which we have already produced. Then comes Reduce, which aims at reduction of the amount of wastes which we produce. Finally we have Recycle. Recycling refers to taking the waste we have produced, and working to convert it into something useful for us. Recycling is regarded as the biggest way we can work towards taking care of our planet because it not only provides us with materials from what was considered waste, but it also reduces the need to extract new resources from the environment.
How can recycling play a huge role in saving taking care of our planet?
Recycling in day to day life is a trend that we are seeing to be on a rise for a long time by now. And we all have heard that it is a good thing to recycle stuff and use things which are made from recycled materials. More and more communities across the world are becoming aware and educated upon recycling and how it can help sustain our planet better. But when we are told about these things, there is one part which is often left out.
This is the question of ‘why’. Why should we use recycled materials? How can using recycled materials give us an advantage which is enough to convince us to change our lifestyles of not caring much about waste disposal and the materials we use? Well the answer is simple. Recycling provides us with a huge number of benefits. These benefits don’t just help us prevent the overexploitation of resources, but it also plays a role in combating climate change due to pollution and industrialisation related hazards to the nature.
Save eco system
It is a well known fact that when you use recycled materials, you save on energy. Also, you save a lot of natural resources. Recycling cuts down in the amount of fossil fuels we burn and the amount of trees we cut. When you recycle things, you reduce the need to produce new things. The amount of resources we need to grow, cultivate or mine decreases significantly. And it also reduces the amount of damage that we do to our environment.
What is recycling, if not humanity’s best medicine to ensure that our planet can have a long and healthy life? When you take up this practice, you making an impact on more lives than you can imagine. And that is what makes it more important than ever.
